  • Statistics: Statistical sampling, Data presentation and interpretation, Probability, Statistical distributions, Statistical hypothesis testing
  • Mechanics: Quantities and units in mechanics, Kinematics, Forces and Newton’s laws, Moments

If you are interested in studying maths at University it is a great idea to explore different facets of mathematics through interesting books on the subject. How will you be assessed during the course?

Students are assessed by three exams at the end of the course, each of 2 hours. The first two exams are a mixture of all of the pure content and the third exam is mechanics and statistics.

How can you help your child excel in this subject?

The best way to improve at maths is by practising more maths. TL Maths has excellent videos if there are concepts you would like explained again. The Physics and Maths Tutor website has a great collection of exam questions grouped by topics. Madas maths has an excellent collection of challenging questions that will push even the brightest students.
