Author visit: Matt Oldfield

We’re excited to welcome Matt Oldfield, bestselling author of the hugely popular Ultimate Football Heroes series, to our school on Tuesday 6th October 2026.

Matt is the author of the Ultimate Football Heroes books, a series that brings the stories of some of football’s greatest players to life. From legendary names and iconic careers to incredible moments on and off the pitch, the books combine football, biography and fast-paced storytelling, making them a favourite with young football fans and readers.

During his visit, Matt will speak to Year 8 students in a special school assembly. He will share his experiences as an author, explain how he researches and writes his books, and talk about what inspired him to create the Ultimate Football Heroes series.

Students will also have the opportunity to meet Matt, ask questions and get their books signed in the school library during lunchtime. Whether you’re a passionate football fan, a keen reader or simply curious about how books are created, this is a fantastic opportunity to meet a bestselling author and discover more about the stories behind some of football’s biggest stars.
